Finding peace and refreshment in the journey
It begins
As our journey as an empty nest couple is about to begin, we decided it was time to look to the future and develop a place to live, grown and share a place set apart for our family as a legacy and for others as a place to seek a place of refreshment and peace.
Finding property was our first step and this began in 2013 while our youngest was still in High School. After looking around the western PA and Ohio Valley area we found our place. These pages will document our journey challenges and many lessons learned. Our vision was a place designed by and for us with a small foot print.
Yurt Living
In 2016, we put a yurt on the property for weekends. This would become our home in the summer of 2019.

House Design
As a couple, we are a Technology Designer for a Engineering firm and an Architect. So we have some fun creating a design that is graceful, lovely and yet practical.

Technologies
We’re always looking for technology that makes sense and will work for us off grid. The journey includes product selection and usually a plan A and then the often necessary plan B.
